Snoopy Shirt Tribute

My Dearest Snoopy Shirt,

Thank you for being unbelievably soft and comfy. You have been so faithful these last 10 or 15 years. Even though you are a double hand-me-down, and were unwanted by your previous owners, you are my prized article of clothing.

Fashionably speaking, you are ugly, but I wear you proudly in public. I am sad for the day when you are too worn, see-through, and full of holes to wear. But I shall retire you with dignity and honor.

I wish I could send you to a magical land of favorite shirts. But honestly, I'll probably cut you up and add you to a quilt or make dust rags. But only so our time together can continue.

Sincerely,

Lisa

I got the idea for this post from Carli. Check out her favorite shirt. I know you have one too!

What's the word for someone whose better than a Pro?

There are few moments in life when true greatness is achieved.

Today, in what I can only describe as one of my proudest moments, I soundly beat Elisa and Sarah in a best-of-three game match. The scores were 45 - love, 45 - 15.

This level of performance catapulted my skill level to the 2000+ range.
I now join the ranks of legendary Wii tennis players.

On a side note, Lisa and I are really enjoying our Wii. We like Golf and Tennis the best. Hannah even joins in the fun. Anyone wanna play?

What's Going On?

I have been out of the loop for almost 2 weeks now. Long story short. Being a mom and being sick is not a good combination. So...

Hannah gets her bath everyday.

She attempts to dive off the bed everyday.

She practices the piano everyday.

She makes a holy cow mess at every meal.

She plays with the baby that copies everything she does.

She follows her cousins everywhere and does whatever they do.

And she gets more cute everyday. We love our Hannah.

P.S. We're moving to Phoenix next week. Hooray for short commutes!

Do You Avoid the Junky Car?

When you are driving through a parking lot and have more than one choice, do you avoid parking next to junky cars?

Are you afraid the junky car owner is going to dent your car? Since they don't take care of their car they must not care about other people's cars.

When you drive down the road and a really junky car is next to you, do you speed up or slow down so that your not next to them? For some odd reason you feel like they are going to swerve into you or do something crazy like that.

We used to drive a Ford Crown Victoria that had a badly dented rear door. That door also had a smashed in window that eventually was patched up with a roll of duck tape.

Also, the icing on the cake is that the car was covered with hundreds of nuggets of bird poo*.

Sometime ago I was driving down the freeway in our beloved Crown Vic. I was just cruising along when I heard a "RRRRRRip." The seal broke on our duck tape window and it began to flap in and out of the car rather wildly. It must have been a very distracting sight for all the drivers around me.

What did they think of me? A dented, poo-covered, duck tape window flapping car. I remember thinking if I was them I would probably speed up so I didn't have to look at me.

Um... I will admit I slid a little lower in my seat.

And... the moral of this story is, it's the driver of the car that counts.

But still keep your distance.

*Our car was parked under a tree.

Judge Not Lest Ye Be Judged.

Once upon a time I used to watch moms attempt to handle their screaming children in public places and sometimes judgments were cast in my mind.

Often I would think,

"My kids won't be like that."

Or "I would never let my kids act that way."

Experience gives you a completely different perspective on life. I only sympathize with moms of screaming kids now. Sometimes that baby is going to cry no matter what you do.

(Hannah at 3 months)

I love my girl!
