Daily, I lie to Hannah during meal times to get her to eat real food. She is a very picky eater.
Some examples...
These are wishing eggs.
Every time you take a big bite you get to make a wish. Worked like a charm.
And Princesses are pretty because they eat carrots.
My spinach pancakes are Santa's favorite.
Green drink smoothies are magical Christmas smoothies.
Broccoli are mini trees and we cut them down and then eat them.
And when she gets sick I tell her it's because of that candy she ate. It rots your guts.
When a cut heals I tell her it's because of the carrots she ate. They have magic and heal you.
There are many more lies I tell.
I've found that the words princess, Santa, magic, and wishing work rather well with her.
Hopefully heaven understands and isn't keeping track of these lies.
I do what I gotta do.
Asher is not picky. Hallelujah.
Words can't express what a relief it is to have a kid that will eat real food.
I will openly admit during meal times, he's my favorite child.
But all the lies...
and all the magic words...
will not get this kid to eat eggs.
Which is the one thing I can get Hannah to eat.
The fork photo shoot was Hannah's idea. She is quickly taking an interest in photography.
I love it.
But I say a mini prayer every time I hand her my camera that it will survive.

First off- "Wishing eggs" is pure genius. And I think all of your "Santa's Favorite" and "Magical" foods are not lies, but much improved titles.
And sugar really does make you sick- and healthful food helps you get better. Basically- I see no lies- only one wise mother. Tell Asher I have a hard time with eggs too. They must have something in/on them (salsa, cheese, veggies, toast, etc.) Otherwise- no thank you. The end.
love that first fork picture. that should be in a magazine article about kids and eating food.
you rock lisa!
What carrots don't have magical powers that heal you???? What a rip off. At least the brussel sprouts make you smarter...
What a funny post. Hey, you are getting this kid to eat, right? We can't have Child Protective Services dispatched. I liked the pics, too- way to go, Hannah!
I wish my food was magical. Jealous.
I always thanked my lucky stars that my first child is not a picky eater and will eat absolutely everything, and then was even more thankful when I got one that was/is a pretty picky eater who also has severe egg and milk allergies. Each one is different.
