It's So Unfair.

Only girls should get to have eyelashes this long.

They touch his eyebrows for crying out loud!

And look at that curly hair.

It's no wonder that he gets whatever he wants.

You can't resist the power of a curly-hair-long-eyelash baby.

No matter how strong you are...

He'll bring you down.

For the record:

Asher is 14 months old and walking like crazy. Which means he's crashing into everything.

He's a mama's boy right now, but is best buds with dad. He loves his sister and follows her around. He tries to do whatever she's doing. Not always fun for me. Sister is a dare devil, and he's not up to her agility level.

Strange people make him cry if they talk to him. Especially our building manager, Mike, who is so nice and LOVES kids. He screams the instant Mike looks at him.

He'll eat almost anything on this earth... but eggs.
He loves to roll around on the couch. He likes to roll around on anything really.
He laughs, he smiles, he squawks, he sleeps, he sings, and he says "Mama" all day long.

We love him...

Except when he's up before 6 am. Then there's no love...

Till you see those eyelashes again.

Per my Mom's request...

What Have I Done?!

I gave Hannah a hair cut...

It kind of got out of control...

I'm using this blog post...

to break the news to Jared.

After an hour of feeling completely sick about what I'd done...

I kind of like it.

(who in their right mind cuts off all those curls?)
(And in my defense, she moved. Alot.)

Edit: I still felt sick about it the next day... and the next day.

A Force Of Nature.

Hannah is a tornado in a 3 year olds body.
Seriously.

She very rarely takes "no" for an answer.

And she doesn't always take "yes" for an answer.

(escaping time out)

She is both polar opposites at the same time.

One of a kind. That girl.

She is a back-talking, strong-willed, head of the house, mind of her own kind of gal.

And we love her.

With the tough, comes the awesome...

For the record:

Hannah snuggles with me every single day. A good, really fun snuggle, where she usually wants me to scratch her back.

When I dress up, she compliments me over and over again. She says, "Pretty Mommy!"

She sleeps 12-14 hours at night. And takes a 2 hour nap. (Oh ya)

She talks to herself after we put her to bed. You can often hear her bossing her toys around. Or she has pretend conversations with her stuffed animals. It's adorable to us.

She's lightly rough and mean with Asher, but I often see her do really nice things for him. She comforts him when he cries. If she steals a pacifier from the basket, she gets one for him too. She tries to hug and carry him around. She plays tickle games with him. She likes to tell her friends who he is.

She likes a hug and kiss from Jared before he goes to school. The two of them have their own little world of games they play on the computer.

Every day she pretend bakes a birthday cake for herself. She has been to many birthday parties lately for her friends. It's been hard on her to not have a party for herself. Her birthday is in a month. I asked her what she wanted for her birthday. She said, "A birthday party for ME!"

She has a few books she repeatedly requests. If You Take a Mouse to the Movies is one of her favorites.

Each night she wants to sing Old MacDonald had a Farm and Jesus Wants Me for a Sunbeam.

When I pick her up from Nursery at Church she screams my name with joy and tells me about what she did.

Hannah loves to draw. Loves it. She also likes to cut paper with scissors.

She has a friend named Ty. If a three year old is capable of having a crush on a boy, then she does. They play really well together and have good fun.

She tries her best to stall her bed time. But we're on to her.

A Hobbit Named Asher.

Wikipedia, about the eating habits of Hobbits:

"They enjoy at least seven meals a day, when they can get them – breakfast, second breakfast, elevenses, luncheon, afternoon tea, dinner, and (later in the evening) supper."

On a typical Asher the Hobbit day:

Breakfast...

... an hour or so later... second breakfast.

Lunch.

(not pictured is many snacks)

Dinner.

When Asher is hungry, he cries as if he will die in a matter of seconds. He thinks he will waste away in the mere minutes in takes me to get food to his mouth. It's only funny after he stops crying. He stops crying the very moment food hits his tongue. Imagine a child going from hysterical to perfectly happy in a split second. And that's Asher when he eats.

I usually take his shirt off.
He often goes through 2 outfits a day.

We love our little hobbit.

Picture of The Month - April

Let the record state...

Asher Cole Allen began walking in March 2010.

Technically, Asher took his first steps months ago. But it's really this last month that he's taken a constant interest in walking. He yells when he does good.

Bonus pictures:

Edit: And let the record also state...

Asher has started to sing songs. It's the cutest thing in this solar system.
