Subtitles.

Asher barking orders at me from the couch.
Story of my life.

Asher snuck the iPad into bed tonight.
He tries this alot, but tonight I let it slide.

Pancakes are just an excuse to eat dessert for breakfast.

It's hard not getting your way.

The obstacle standing between me and a nap.

Birthday.

Hannah thinks everything is a wonderful, amazing, magical experiment.
I wish I could be more like her.

Planting Day.

It's adorable how little boys get to ground level when playing with their trains.
It's a little less adorable when they do it butt naked.
But just a little.

I myseteriouly crave Zebra Cakes at all times.
Even though I know they are made of chemicals and leave a waxy film in my mouth for hours.

5 Years Old.

There was much sugar this week.

NATO.

If you weren't aware of it...

Today is the 2012 NATO Summit where all the world leaders get together and chit chat. Chicago is the first U.S. city other than Washington to host the Summit.

We live just a few miles from where this is going down.

We also live a few blocks from Barak Obama's house. Double whammy.

I'm telling you this to try and explain the crazy situation we are living in this weekend.

So, the main roads are shut down. The train and buses are under mega security measures. We basically can't leave our neighborhood. And since Mrs. Obama is bringing all the NATO people to our neck of the woods today for a field trip. It's crazy.

The helicopters are patrolling. They are so loud.

Cops are patrolling.

It's kind of fun. And annoying.

And since it's Hannah's birthday today and we can't go anywhere, we are going to do what every family is probably going to do. Go to the beach and watch the jets.

Side note: I laughed like crazy this week when I saw a crew picking up the trash on the main road that Summit people would be driving on. Litter is one of the things I hate most about Chicago. So I welcome NATO anytime if it means less trash.

If You Haven't Figured It Out Yet...

I like to take pictures.

It's my creative outlet.

Please note the scrunched socks. I don't dare pull them straight. He would yell at me. He has strong opinions on sock fashion.
Cooking and Eating. My two favorite hobbies combined made for a pleasant evening. (California Benedict)

Homemade Kaleidoscope.

He thinks my music is too loud. It's not. This is coming from a kid who spent 20 minutes this morning screaming for unknown reasons.

I have a small problem. My kid is refusing to wear clothes today. Could make going in public a bit awkward.

They are pals.

It flew.

Asher's best buddy.

I found this lil' guy making his way through a house I work at. I think he took a wrong turn.

This is a dad helping his daughter out during a game of Go Fish. He knew she needed the angelfish card.

Instagram was made just for me.

But I let other people use it since I'm nice.
