The Big #1.

Happy Birthday Asher Boy!

It has been a unhappy birthday.

Last week he was barfing.

This week his teeth decided to all grow in at once. They're coming in everywhere. Especially the molars. Lots of fevers and screaming.

Have you ever seen a depressed baby before?

This kid has been so stressed out that he just wants to sleep. He takes 6-7 naps a day and still sleeps at night.

At one point, I found him sad and laying face down on the rug in Hannah's room. My heart broke a little trying to help him get through this psycho teething trauma.

Poor kid hasn't really laughed or smiled in 2 weeks

Thank you for pacifiers, Children's Tylenol, and Veggie Tales. I may have mentally snapped without them.

I get the feeling it's almost over. Please let it be over.

We miss our happy boy.

365 Days Goes By Fast.

Me and Asher. 1 year ago today.

(Due Date 2-24-09)

It was easy to change his diaper when he was a fetus.

Now I have to pin him down with my leg to keep him from rolling over, thus flinging poop everywhere.

But he's a good boy otherwise. So we're gonna keep him.

Barf. It's What My Life Is About.

I live in a world of barf.

If Hannah is in a car longer than 15 minutes, she barfs.
(Do you know how long it takes to get a car seat clean of barf? 3 hours start to finish.)

Asher has always spit up a chunk of his meals since birth.

And now lunch didn't agree with him, so everything is coming back up. Breakfast too.

(What's the point in putting clothes on him? I've changed his clothes 3 times in the last hour.)

I long for the barf-free days of parenthood.

I can still remember the first time I barfed. It was night time. I didn't know what was happening. I thought the insides of my head were coming out. I was really scared. I kept the vomit in my mouth for a long time till finally I spit it out in the toilet and told my mom what happened.

As previously stated, barf is my least favorite body fluid to be covered in.

What's yours?

Edit: He's been barfing for 5 days. And for one of those days I was barfing too. Fun stuff.

She Broke Me.

Have you ever felt completely defeated as a parent?

I felt that way when I walked into Hannah's room and saw this...

That's permanent marker folks.

And what you're seeing is just a fraction of the damage.

I've yelled.
I've spanked.
She's done major time in timeout.
I've even tried softly reasoning with her.

It's just not sinking in. DRAW ON PAPER!

And now our apartment looks just as bad as the last apartment.

All drawing privileges have been revoked for the time being.

Heaven knows I love that girl through it all.

Edit: Today I found white-out all over her room. Sigh.

That girl loves to draw.

Fry It Baby. Fry It Good.

If you know me well you know I like fried food.

I subconciously crave this meal at all times.
Shrimp and Chips from Pete's Fish and Chips in Mesa, AZ.

Oh, how I love to eat you.
I could drink that sauce straight.

Pete's, I've tried finding your equal here, but to no avail.

If an unborn child is made of what the mother eats...
then Hannah is half shrimp and french fries.

Picture of The Month - January

Hallelujah! She now eats carrots!

One vegetable at a time. Next stop... beans.

#1 stress in my life is getting this girl to eat healthy food.

The Husband.

Jared is my buddy. We have fun.

There's lots of hugs, desserts, jokes, kids, T.V shows, dates...

AND...

He does laundry, dishes, baking, bath, and bed time.

I married well.

Love him.
